About LUCCA

The LUcerne Complex and CAlcified PCI Meeting brings interventional cardiologists together around live cases, imaging and decision-making.

Why LUCCA exists

Complex and calcified lesions are where everyday PCI gets difficult. LUCCA focuses on exactly this niche, taught through live cases and open debate, not lecture marathons.

Lesion preparation

Atherectomy and intravascular lithotripsy for heavily calcified vessels.

Intracoronary imaging

IVUS and OCT to read the lesion, plan the strategy and check the result.

Complication management

How experienced operators anticipate, recognise and handle complications in complex PCI.

FAQs

What LUCCA is, who is behind it and how long the meeting has been running.

What does the name LUCCA stand for?

LUCCA stands for LUcerne Complex and CAlcified PCI Meeting. It is a meeting in Lucerne for interventional cardiologists working on complex and calcified coronary lesions, built around live cases, intracoronary imaging and hands-on workshops.

Who organises LUCCA?

LUCCA is led by three course directors from Luzerner Kantonsspital: Prof. Dr. med. Florim Cuculi, PD Dr. med. Adrian Attinger and PD Dr. med. Matthias Bossard. FentEvent GmbH has organised every edition as professional congress organiser.

Who is LUCCA for?

Interventional cardiologists, fellows and cath-lab teams from Switzerland and across Europe. The room stays deliberately focused: a working audience that discusses cases, not a trade-show crowd.

How long has LUCCA been running?

LUCCA started in 2022 and has taken place every year since. LUCCA 6.0 runs from 29 April to 1 May 2027 at the KKL Lucerne and Luzerner Kantonsspital.

Is LUCCA accredited for CME credits?

Not yet. Accreditation for LUCCA 6.0 will be applied for once the programme has been submitted. Details on CME credits will follow.
